The newly formed Watershed Wealth Coop (WWC) is creating a
roster of contract service providers by soliciting Statements Of Qualifications
(SOQ) from any experienced individual or organization interested in providing
reliable and high quality professional services in the following areas:
Site installation & material collection at Watershed Wealth Coop restoration
sites: We need contractors in various geographic areas on a site-by-site
basis, with experience in: plant installation & maintenance, plant propagation
(in nursery and/or dispersed site-based settings), bioengineering, landscape
architecture, silviculture, permaculture, agroforestry, wildcrafting, general
excavation and construction, and fencing.
Evaluation & monitoring of Watershed Wealth Coop restoration sites: We
need contractors in various geographic areas on a site-by-site basis, with
cross-disciplinary field-based experience in all the following: habitat
assessment (terrestrial and riparian), plant identification, wildlife
identification, water quality and quantity monitoring, soil nutrient and
composition testing, soil microbiology or mycorrhizal interactions, and carbon
sequestration monitoring. The most successful respondents will be familiar with
GIS and web based data collection, entry and management systems, and their
experience with these should be clearly identified using examples of past
evaluation and/or monitoring experience. Experience with nano-technology or RFID
tagging an asset.
Project & project management: Watershed Wealth has urban, agricultural
and forestry-based applications in all watersheds, and any biogeoclimatic zone.
We need contractors in various geographic areas on a project by project basis,
able to provide independent but directed project management / coordination of
Watershed Wealth solutions on private, municipal, regional/county,
provincial/state, federal and possibly First Nation/Tribal lands.
The Watershed Wealth approach crosses a broad range of related topical arenas,
therefore respondents are encouraged to indicate their top area of interest and
expertise, then outline interdisciplinary experiences using examples of past
experience. We will need contractors both to manage specialty and partner-based
initiatives (such as targeted invasive plant removal campaigns, First Nation /
Tribal capacity development initiatives, community stewardship engagement
programs, Environmental Farm Plan applications, public space restorations,
transportation corridor projects, silvicultural-level non-timber forest product
sites), as well as internal WWC programs (such as residential homeowner contact
programs, property developer environmental mitigation plans, carbon
sequestration and offset brokerage, and green roofing sales).
Product development & manufacture: WWC will broker neutraceutical,
medicinal, ornamental and edible raw materials, plus value added products made
from the materials collected from certified WWC sites. Contractors are required
to work with existing product makers to substitute WWC-derived raw materials for
currently imported sources, develop new value-added products from specified raw
materials, provide advice on current market trends and in-demand target
plant-based compounds.
Business support: Contractors are sought to provide: contract
administration, website management, network / IT support, graphics and branding
development, product marketing and sales, distribution system management, and
event coordination.
The WWC anticipates the need for services in these areas for both ongoing and
future projects, and may use its approved roster to select one or more entities
to negotiate with for a professional services contract or to submit formal
proposals. Acceptance to the WWC roster does not constitute permission for a
contractor to represent the WWC.
The Watershed Wealth Coop (WWC) restores lost & damaged habitat using
commercially valuable native plant species mixes which are then carefully
monitored, selectively collected & well-marketed. WWC is a social purpose
enterprise that offers certification training & franchise business opportunities
in any local watershed or ecosystem, re-distributes wealth to Coop members and
investors, and generates profits that fund community environmental stewardship
activities. The WWC is committed to developing local community economic activity
while working to restore terrestrial and riparian habitat in watersheds of BC
and beyond. Preference will be given to local individuals and firms that have
the required expertise for local projects.

single-sided pages in length. The SOQ should identify:

The WWC is an equal opportunity employer and committed to affirmative action so
